CA Foundation Exam Form January 2027: Last Date, Fees & How to Apply

If you plan to appear in the CA Foundation exam in January 2027, you must submit a separate online exam form on ICAI's Self Service Portal (SSP). Having a valid Foundation course registration is not enough. ICAI has announced that the form opens on 3 November 2026, closes without late fee on 16 November 2026, and can be filed with a late fee until 19 November 2026. The Foundation papers are on 3, 5, 7 and 9 January 2027.

This guide gives you the official dates, the fee table, who is eligible, the documents you need, a step-by-step process, the correction window rules, fixes for common problems, and how to confirm that your application was actually recorded.

CA Foundation Exam Form January 2027: Important Dates

The CA Foundation January 2027 exam form opens on 3 November 2026 and the last date to apply without a late fee is 16 November 2026. These dates come from ICAI's Examination Department announcement dated 23 September 2026.

Papers 1 and 2 run from 2 PM to 5 PM, and Papers 3 and 4 run from 2 PM to 4 PM. ICAI has also said the exam schedule will not change even if a date is later declared a public holiday. Do not confuse the 16 and 19 November form deadlines with the 20 to 22 November correction window. The correction window is only for changing details in a form you have already submitted. It is not an extra chance to apply.

CA Foundation January 2027 Exam Form: Official Link

The official place to apply is ICAI's Self Service Portal: eservices.icai.org. ICAI also keeps all January 2027 examination documents on one page: ICAI Examinations, January 2027. That page lists the Guidance Notes for Foundation, the requirements for applying, the City Master, the Fee Chart and the Important Dates.

To reach the exam form, log in to SSP and look for the January 2027 examination application in your dashboard. ICAI shows forms based on your eligibility, so if you cannot see the Foundation form, the cause is usually a registration or profile issue (see the problems section below). Menu names on the portal can change, so follow the labels you actually see rather than any fixed path.

Do not apply through any other website, agent or social media link. ICAI does not need a third party to submit your form, and Sachin Ajmera Classes is not an official ICAI source.

CA Foundation Exam Form Fees January 2027

The CA Foundation exam fee for January 2027 is ₹1,500 for Indian centres. The fee depends on the centre you choose.

Exam centreExam feeLate feeTotal if you apply late
India₹1,500₹600₹2,100
Kathmandu (Nepal)₹2,200₹600₹2,800
Bahrain and DubaiUS$325US$10US$335

The fee and the late fee come from ICAI's announcement dated 23 September 2026. Check the totals against ICAI's Fee Chart for January 2027 before you pay.

You pay online only. ICAI's announcement lists VISA, MASTER or MAESTRO credit and debit cards, RuPay cards, net banking and BHIM UPI.

Late fee

The late fee applies only if you submit the form after 16 November and on or before 19 November 2026. After 19 November, the online form is closed. ICAI's guidance for earlier sessions gave no further opportunity once the late-fee date had passed, so do not plan around an extension.

Eligibility to Apply for CA Foundation January 2027

You can apply for the January 2027 Foundation exam if your Foundation course registration meets ICAI's cut-off and you have passed or appeared in Class 12. Reports of ICAI's January 2027 guidelines state that Foundation registration must be done by 1 September 2026, which gives the required study period before the exam month.

The main conditions are:

  • Course registration: You must hold a valid Foundation registration within the cut-off. If you registered later, you would generally be eligible for the next Foundation session instead.
  • Class 12: You must have passed Class 12 or appeared in the Class 12 exam. Upload your marksheet if you have passed, or your Class 12 admit card if you have appeared.
  • Provisional applicants: If you apply before your Class 12 result, ICAI reportedly requires the Class 12 proof on SSP by 1 December 2026, and without it the admit card is not issued. Confirm the exact deadline in the Foundation Guidance Notes.

If you want a wider view of who can become a CA student, read our guide to CA eligibility criteria.

Course registration is not the same as exam form submission

These are two separate steps, and many students mix them up.

A student who has registered for the course but has not submitted the exam form cannot sit the exam.

Documents and Details Required

Keep these ready before 3 November so the form takes only a few minutes:

  • SSP login: your username (your student registration number followed by @icai.org) and password. If you have forgotten the password, ICAI tells students to use the forgot password option.
  • Class 12 proof: marksheet or admit card, uploaded on SSP.
  • Photograph: JPG or JPEG, 20 to 50 KB, fitting 4.5 cm by 3.5 cm, white background, with your face and ears clearly visible. Spectacles are fine, but caps, masks and goggles are not.
  • Signature: signed in black pen on plain white paper, saved as JPG or JPEG, 10 to 20 KB, fitting 6 cm by 2 cm, cropped without extra white space.
  • Payment method: a card, net banking account or UPI app that works for online payments.

These photograph and signature specifications are consistently reported from ICAI's guidance for the January 2027 session. ICAI prints your photo and signature on documents such as the admit card, so update them on SSP before you open the form if they are missing or unclear. Verify the specifications in the Guidance Notes on ICAI's examination page.

How to Fill CA Foundation Exam Form January 2027

Follow these steps once the window opens on 3 November 2026. ICAI's portal wording may differ slightly from the labels below, so use the labels you see on screen.

  1. Open the official portal. Go to eservices.icai.org in a laptop or desktop browser.
  2. Log in. Use your SSP username (registration number followed by @icai.org) and password.
  3. Open the exam form. Find the January 2027 examination application in your dashboard and select the Foundation form.
  4. Check your details. Confirm your name, registration, Class 12 information, photograph and signature on screen. Fix any problem on SSP before going further.
  5. Choose your exam city and medium. Select your examination city and the medium in which you will write, English or Hindi. ICAI also publishes a City Master for January 2027, and recent guidance reports that ICAI lets you choose a centre within your city. Your final centre is shown on your admit card.
  6. Review the form. Read every field again. Centre and medium can be changed later only in the correction window.
  7. Upload documents if asked. Provide the Class 12 proof or other documents if the form requests them.
  8. Pay the exam fee online. Use one of the accepted payment modes and pay the correct fee for your centre.
  9. Submit the form. Do not close the browser until the confirmation appears.
  10. Download and save the confirmation. After payment, download the barcoded exam form PDF. You do not need to post a printed copy to ICAI, but keep the PDF and your payment proof safely until you get your admit card.

A bank deduction alone does not prove that your application is complete. Treat the generated exam form PDF as the real proof.

CA Foundation Exam Form Correction Window January 2027

The correction window runs from 20 to 22 November 2026 and is meant for changing your exam city or medium. It opens only after the late-fee date has passed.

What to know about it:

  • What you can change: ICAI's announcement names the exam city and medium. Do not assume you can change anything else, such as your name or date of birth, through this window.
  • Only for submitted forms: If you did not submit a form by 19 November, the correction window cannot help you.
  • How many times: For the previous session, ICAI allowed a single correction request and no changes after the window closed. Expect the same discipline now.
  • How to reach it: Log in to SSP during the window and look for the correction option for your submitted form.
  • What to check first: Look at your exam form PDF, confirm the city you originally chose, and decide your final city and medium before you click submit.

If you spot a wrong name, photograph or signature, fix the profile through SSP or write to ICAI's examination helpline at once. Do not wait for the admit card.

Common Problems While Filling the CA Foundation Exam Form

Login problems

Use the forgot password option on SSP. If the reset fails, write to the SSP helpdesk (ssp.helpdesk@icai.in) with your registration number and a short description. Test your login now, not on 16 November.

Registration details not appearing or the form is not visible

The Foundation form appears only if your registration is valid and within the cut-off. If you see an old course or the form is missing, check your registration status on SSP and contact the Foundation examination helpline (foundation_examhelpline@icai.in). If ICAI's rules require you to convert your course before applying, complete that conversion first. Our CA eligibility guide explains the basic conditions.

Payment failure

Do not assume anything. Open your SSP dashboard and check whether the exam form PDF was generated. If it was not, ICAI's guidance for earlier sessions says you need to submit a fresh application. If money was deducted but the payment was not recorded as successful, the refund rules in the Guidance Notes apply. Keep your transaction ID, bank message and a screenshot.

Duplicate payment

If you paid twice by mistake, keep both transaction records and write to ICAI. Recent guidance reports that duplicate payments are refunded after verification. Check the refund conditions in the Foundation Guidance Notes. A payment-related helpline address of edpexam@icai.in has also been reported for fee queries, so confirm it on ICAI's page before relying on it.

Form submission errors

Use a stable internet connection, a laptop or desktop and one browser tab. If an error appears, wait a few minutes, log in again and check whether the form was already recorded before you try to apply again.

Photograph or signature issues

Upload files that match the required size, format and dimensions before opening the form. Blurry, over-cropped or oversized files are the usual reason for rejection.

Confirmation receipt not generated

Log in again and check your dashboard for the exam form PDF. If it still does not appear after a successful payment, email the Foundation examination helpline with your registration number, payment proof and a screenshot, and do it before 19 November.

How to Check CA Foundation Exam Form Submission Status

Your best proof is the barcoded exam form PDF that is generated after successful payment. Log in to SSP and confirm that the PDF opens and shows your name, registration number, exam city, medium and fee details.

Some guides also mention a payment and application status option on ICAI's examination website, under the January 2027 exam details. Because this path is reported by third parties and I could not confirm it on ICAI's own pages, use it only as a backup and rely on the PDF in your SSP account.

Preserve your records:

  • Save the exam form PDF in your email and on your phone.
  • Keep the payment confirmation or bank statement entry.
  • Take a screenshot of the final confirmation screen.
  • Check everything again after the correction window closes on 22 November.

Important Tips Before Submitting the Exam Form

  • Do not wait for the last day. Portals slow down near deadlines, and a payment issue is much easier to solve on 5 November than on 16 November.
  • Check your registration cut-off against the dates above.
  • Upload Class 12 proof early if you are applying provisionally.
  • Match the photograph and signature specifications before you begin.
  • Pick your city and medium carefully. You get one correction chance, not unlimited changes.
  • Pay once and verify. Confirm the PDF before you try again.
  • Keep the PDF. You will need it if any question arises about your admit card.
  • Follow only ICAI. Check eservices.icai.org and icai.org for any change or corrigendum.

CA Foundation January 2027 Exam Preparation

Submitting the form is a milestone, not the finish line. You will have about six weeks between the late-fee deadline and the first paper, so treat the form as a signal to organise your preparation.

ICAI has announced two mock test series before the exam, running from 1 to 9 December and 14 to 21 December 2026. Our guide to CA Foundation January 2027 mock test papers lists the subject-wise dates and access steps. For a week-by-week plan, use our CA Foundation January 2027 study plan. Check what each paper covers in our CA course syllabus guide, and practise a full paper in the real time slot with the CA Foundation September 2026 question paper.

Two other habits help in the final weeks: learn to split your day with time management for CA exams, and understand how many hours to study daily so you stay consistent instead of burning out. Read the CA Foundation September 2026 exam-day guidelines to see how ICAI conducted the previous session. If you are curious how recent candidates fared, see the CA Foundation September 2026 result page.

You can also read the beginner's guide to CA Foundation coaching in Jaipur or try the demo lectures first, so you can judge the teaching style before deciding.

No. Course registration enrols you in the Foundation course. The exam form enters you for the January 2027 exam. You need both, and the registration must be within ICAI's cut-off.

6. Can I submit the exam form after the last date?
Only until 19 November 2026, with the late fee. After that date, the online form closes, and ICAI's guidance for earlier sessions did not give a further opportunity.

8. When is the correction window?
The correction window is from 20 to 22 November 2026. It is for changing the exam city or medium in a form you have already submitted, not for applying.

9. Can I change my examination centre?
Yes, but only within the correction window, 20 to 22 November 2026. For the previous session ICAI allowed one correction request, so choose carefully.

10. What should I do if my payment fails?

11. How can I download my submitted exam form?
Log in to SSP and open your January 2027 exam form record to download the barcoded PDF generated after payment. Save it on your device and in your email.

12. Can a student appear without submitting the examination form?
No. Every Foundation candidate must apply online and pay the exam fee. Without a submitted exam form, you will not get an admit card.

Conclusion

The CA Foundation January 2027 exam form opens on 3 November 2026 and closes without late fee on 16 November. You can still apply with a late fee until 19 November, and the correction window for city and medium runs from 20 to 22 November. Check your registration, Class 12 proof, photograph and signature now, apply early, and save the exam form PDF as your proof.
